Dr. Ward’s education began with a mechanical engineering degree from New Mexico State University, followed by a career as a mechanical engineer with some of the top defense contractors in the nation. After years working as a mechanical engineer, he pursued a path to medicine by obtaining his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed orthopedic surgery training at The University of Texas Health San Antonio and a spine surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, specializing in robotic and minimally invasive techniques.
His personal experience with chronic back pain due to a congenital spinal anomaly deepens his empathy for patients, allowing him to connect on a personal level. Dr. Ward collaborates with a multi-specialty team to create comprehensive treatment plans that address pain and promote long-term well-being. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, newborn son, and rescue dogs, exploring Tampa Bay. Dr. Ward is dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life and navigate their path to recovery.
